Weekend Birthday Party for MJ and CR!

MJ was very excited for his friends to come over and the bouncy to get set-up!

One really cool thing about having the boys birthdays both in June, is we can have one big B-day party! It was a great day and we had most of our family and friends here to celebrate with us. Thank everyone for coming. Grandma Smit and Grandpa Ron both made it up to see the boys. The boys were very happy about that.

Overall the day was fun...pizza, cake, ice cream, bouncy with slide, pinata, friends, swing set, superheros, vodka lemonade, and sunny warm weather. CR took a good nap, so he was in pretty good spirits and loved bouncing in the bouncy house (he was not hip on the slide). MJ did not get a nap and was gooped up on gop and fricked up on frack and was totally excited and a little overwhelmed. He had a good time, but got in a bit of "trouble" a few times for being out of control. He bounced back each time and had a good time.

At the end of the day as MJ was about to drop in exhaustion, he came up to me and gave he a big hug and almost fell into me and said "thanks for throwing me the best birthday party ever mommy"! That made it all worthwhile!

Cara made the boys Super M and Super C Superhero costumes. They were totally awesome and the boys love them. Thank you Cara. MJ just wants to wear his all the time.

Birthday Cake!

CR had a great Birthday. He was feeling better...still some tummy issues, but no fever. He is not 100%, but good enough to enjoy the beautiful day. He woke up to MJ singing him Happy Birthday with a present from MJ to CR in hand. The boys enjoyed a lazy morning with Mom (Chad had a gig last night and got in real late. Since it is Fathers Day too, we let him sleep in). We made CR a birthday cake. MJ cracked the eggs and put all the ingredients in. When it came time to mix the cake with the cake mixer, MJ said "CR can have more turns and minutes with the cake mixer than me because is his special day". Now, if you know MJ well...you know that was pure love to say and do that!! CR was very proud of his special cake and showed everyone who stopped over HIS special cake (mom, how many times did he make you look at it?? :-) ). When I put him to bed tonight, I asked him what his favorite part of his birthday was...he answered without hesitation, "my birthday cake". We had a special lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Troast. Then Uncle Ronnie surprised us and stopped by. Always fun!!! The pizza man brought dinner for us tonight. Overall we just hung out, went for a walk, played with water, and spread out the present opening to last all day. It was a very fun and relaxed day. Just how I remembered birthdays growing up.

As CR feel asleep tonight, he was singing Happy Birthday to himself. So precious.

I love you CR, sleep tight my 2-year old! You get to spend tomorrow with Aunt Nisi!

One more note:

I can't tell you how awesome MJ was today. He was so good to his brother and his brother to him. It is days like this that it all makes sense. Little things like, MJ let CR pick what color he wanted to be in candy land and let him go first. And, MJ gave CR all his "double cereals" (the yogurt cheerios that stick together--jackpot in our house) because it was his special day. That is what being brothers is all about. CR loves him right back. MJ was taking a little nap on the couch and MJ just climbed ontop of him because he wanted to hug him...MJ didn't mind at all.

CR - The Birthday Boy

CRW - 2-Years Old Today!!!!!!!!

CR is 2 today. I love that boy with all my heart and soul. I really think Birthday's mean more to the mommy's of the world. I remember ever second of being pregnant and delivering and of the first 2-years of his life.

On this day: June 15th, 2008 here are a few things about CR:

-He is sick with a fever, bad tummy issues, cold, snuffles, etc.

-He loves his brother more than any love I have ever seen. He adores his dad. He loves the comfort of his mom.

-He loves Elmo and Superheros.

-He loves animals...especially dogs and cats. He is not sure if he loves bugs. Lucky for him MJ loves bugs, so when he sees a bug, he calls for MJ to save the day!

-He loves to swing. He would swing all day long if you let him. A CR common quote is "Push, up to the SKY"!

-He has a free-spirited heart.

-He is honest and true.

-He loves pizza. If you ask him what he wants to eat, 99% of the time he will reply "pizza". He even plays a game called "pizza-man". I have made up a song call "pizza-man" that I sing to him almost every night also. Pizza, who would have thought.

-He loves everything about MJ. He imitates and says everything MJ does. If MJ gets off his chair, so does CR. If MJ says he thinks something is yucky, so does CR. If MJ goes in a time-out, CR follows. His admiration for MJ is heartwarming.

-He likes the color yellow (or at least the word yellow).

-He loves art. He especially likes to make circles.

-He loves school and all of his friends.

-He can count to 10 (but often forgets that pesky number 5).

-He is 100% potty trained.

He is my CR, and I love him. Happy Birthday Baby....I mean 2-year old boy.

Here is a picture of CR today at the school fun fair. He really just wanted to come home and to go to bed. But, he still managed to smile and see all of his friends.

First Happy Father's Day to my very own dad! He is a great dad. Thanks for putting up with me all these years....and many more to come!

A long time..

So it has been a while. I have not been neglecting writing because there is a lack material. It is the opposite actually. All is well, just life can get a little crazy, the ride is fine!

In the 3 second version. We got a bunch of tadpoles. They died 6 days later. MJ's first mortality lesson. To say he was heartbroken was an understatement. A questions like "will the tadpoles still grow into frogs in heaven" is just one of many deep thought related questions. That is my MJ, thoughtful and deep. I think he is OK with it now is at peace with the concept.

Ronnie and Jasmine had birthday's last weekend (pixs later) and we had a party at Nisi's. Fun and great to see them. We miss you guys!

We went to the boys school fun fair today. Way fun!

Chad is in a new band that gigs tonight. Way fun!

Overall Life is good.

Happy Day

Cousin D is out of school for the year and Aunt Nisi is done with work for the summer!!! We are looking forward to lots of hang time with them this summer. So...we all went (with G/G) to go fishing today. Not only did we catch LOTS of fish, we caught frogs, toads, tadpoles, etc. CR will tell you he caught "A BIIIIGGGG fish". A true fisherboy.

MJ spotted and caught his own toad. He was very proud of himself and had a lot of fun catching that little adoeable toad. On my kitchen table is a bucket full of tadpoles that we brought home (note to self, see what tadpoles eat). G/G had there camera, so I will update with some cute "big" fish pictures. But, here are a couple of pixs from my phone.

Also, I think my folks noticed I was a little stressed out today. Work is kind of crazy and just a bunch of stuff I needed to get done. So, after fishing the boys and I came home around 1:30 and they took naps. My folks came up around 3:30 to watch the boys so I could get work/errands done. Thanks guys, that helped a lot!!
