Kiss me!

So, it has been a while. Chad was gone for the good part of 2 weeks at different trade shows. He is back now. I have had the worst sinus infection/cold I have ever had...Cara I blame you! :-) The boys are great. They are doing awesome at swimming lessons, they are doing less awesome at listening...so it is a typical day. Back to bed for me...I don't know if my nose is dripping or my eyes are watering...it is all one wet mushy mess...anyone wanna kiss me???

Weekend Update....

So, MJ and CR started swimming lessons this weekend. MJ did so totally awesome. Last year we tried them, and to say he did not swimming lessons is an understatement (tears, screaming, kicking, etc.). The difference a year makes!!! MJ got in the water and did everything Ms. Morgan asked. He did awesome. He jumped in the pool from the side, floated on his back, kicked, etc. CR also got in the water, but he wasn't listening too well. He is still little, so that is ok...he just likes to play in the water.

The rest of the weekend was great. Fun fair/book fair at school (face painting, games, food, etc.); Friends over Friday night; Sat. night the boys had a fun sleep over at Aunt Nisi's and Chad and I went to Chad's gig and the big sexy winter chili solstice party! Very fun to see all our friends we haven't seen in a long time.

Groovy times.

Roller Skating

We took with boys rollerskating yesterday with Cara, Jay, and little friend Ricky. It was very fun. But what was I thinking? I really thought that I would lace up CR and MJ's skates and off they would go. That was not the case. CR was terrified. He tried it for about 1 minute and then was DONE. He sat on a bench overlooking the rink and watched and cheered for everyone as they passed. He was much happier doing this (with his skates off). MJ really really wanted to skate. At first, he had a death grip and was terrified. By the end of an hour or two, he was standing alone and practicing the break. He could shuffle his feet holding my or Chad's hand. He was doing great for his first time. He told me later that he loved it and wants to go back. Now Cara.....She is a roller-rink-skating-fool. I think she goes there in all her free time so she can be an expert. :-) CR liked the bumper cars and video games best. MJ said he liked skating best and that he did a good job learning in only a few hours. I agree!

I'm the Daddy Rooster

With all the Christmas gifts the boys received, you would think they would be in new toy heaven. Well, they do enjoy there new gifts, but....CR still wants to be the daddy rooster. Oh, you don't know this game. It goes like this. He takes one of our old laundry wicker baskets with a top. ..he climbs in, then pops out screaming as loud as he can...."cock a doo doo" (he doesn't have the doodle part down yet). Now the laundry basket is actually his egg. You might think it is a nest, but you would be incorrect, it is his egg. Now don't think you can put things like, laundry, in the basket. No, it is his egg and he will put what he wants to in it. And.....when you can't find something (like my wallet) the egg is the best place to look. Yes, CR is inspired to be the daddy rooster. Sometimes MJ will join in on the rooster and egg game, but only if there is another available basket. Don't even think about getting into CR's egg. Oh my....the daddy rooster will not take kindly to that.

2009

It is a new year. So far so great. I have been chilling for 2 weeks with my family, so all seems pretty great now. Life is good, even while the world is in unsure times.
Chad and I planned on going out on New Years Eve, but MJ was sick and couldn't keep anything down....so we stayed home. We ordered in some very yummy food and spent time with the boys. We opened some of those crackers that have toys and hats in them. CR got a whistle and has been wearing it and blowing that thing everywhere and telling everyone he is the coach!
As the NY ball dropped in Times Square, we watched Dick Clark have an uncomfortable kiss with whom I hope is his wife. I am glad that memory is in 2008.

New years 2009 resolutions:

My personal resolution this year (hold on mom, this will make you proud) is to increase my alcohol tolerance. Yep, that is right. I want to be able to go out and have 2 or 3 drinks and not be a wet noodle. I remember the days when I could have a few drinks and be fine.....ever since I had the boys, I am one drink Jenny. So, in 2009, I want to drink more (mom...are you proud?).

Chad wants to learn electronics in 2009. Wow, I am not sure how to respond to that. He wants to build his own amp and pedal.

Our family resolution is to do yoga together at least 4 times a week. So far so good! Another family resolution is to eat very healthy and according to the boys, play more games!

OK, off to do yoga with the family. The fire is burning, the mood music is on, MJ just turned off the lights and closed the blinds....he were come!
